ExtremeCap UVC - BU110

[1] on Windows computer

Step 1: connect BU110 to your PC with the supplied USB 3.0 Type A to Type C adapter.

Step 2: connect the input source (for example: digital video camera) to the HDMI input terminal of BU110.

Step 3: download and install latest version of RECentral 4 from AVerMedia official product page BU110 downloads.

Step 4: run the software (RECentral 4 or OBS Studio) and start the recording or live stream

BU110 is a plug&play UVC (USB video class) UAC (USB audio class) product that on Windows 8.1 or Windows 10 operating systems doesn’t require separate driver installation it will get detected in 3rd party application as a web camera.

With installation of RECentral 4 there will be “AVerMedia Extreme Cap UVC Stream engine” plugin installed at the same time. Using BU110 with 3rd party applications “Stream engine” will improve performance and video quality.


[2] on MAC platform

Step 1: connect BU110 to your MAC with the supplied USB 3.0 Type A to Type C adapter

Step 2: connect the input source (for example: digital video camera) to the HDMI input terminal of BU110.

Step 3: run 3rd party software (OBS Studio or QuickTime) and start the recording/ live stream.


[3] on Android device

Step 1: connect BU110 to your Android smartphone with USB OTG adapter.

Step 2: connect the input source (for example: digital video camera) to the HDMI input terminal of BU110.

Step 3: download and install “CameraFi Live” (live streaming) or “CameraFi” (capture) application from Google Play Store.

Note: “CameraFi Live” isn’t compatible with every Android device, make sure to confirm compatibility on CameraFi official website ..

BU110 can support only digital video cameras with following resolution outputs:

1080p、1080i、720p、576p、576i、480p、480i

If the connected input source (video camera, media player, professional video equipment) doesn’t meet above specification there will be “Out of range”, “No signal” or black screen error shown in the software application.

Although BU110 can receive input from game consoles, it doesn’t have HDMI pass-thru. This means that in the software preview certain level of latency might be experienced (when connected to USB 3.0 port around 0.13 seconds latency).

Please check at “Device Manager” under “Sound, video, game controllers” whether do you see capture card displayed as “AVerMedia ExtremeCap UAC” if you see it as “USB Audio device” this means that the installation wasn’t not completed successfully. Please click on right mouse button then select “Uninstall device” uninstalling the device then rebooting the computer will solve this problem.

A: Connecting BU110 to Android phone via USB Type-C cable symptom shown on below picture might occur:



This video noise is caused by Android system limitation that limits USB 3.0 bandwidth and results failure of data transmission.

The solution is to connect BU110 to your Android phone via USB 2.0 adapter that will enforce down to USB 2.0 data transmission and the video from HDMI input will display properly in CameraFi Live application.



Or it’s also possible to use USB 2.0 specified Type-C USB cable


RECentral 4 shows “Device Occupied” error message

 

STEP 1:

If you have already updated your system to Windows 10 [1803]

This error is resulted by the new update that controls the way of applications connecting your webcams and video capture devices.

Please refer to following steps to resolve the situation:

 

In Windows Search type “Privacy Settings” then click “Enter”

 

 

1. At Privacy Settings/ App Permissions/ Camera find the toggle and make sure to set it on

“Allow apps to access your camera”

 

2. At Privacy Settings/ App Permissions/ Microphone find the toggle and make sure to set it on

“Allow apps to access your microphone”

 

STEP 2:

Make sure that your UAC (USB Audio Class) device (for example: GC510, GC513, GC570, BU110) is enabled* at Windows Volume panel under Recording devices.

*Note: if you plug microphone to your system that will be the default device, but UAC device still has to be enabled.

 

STEP 3:

If your device is USB interface (for example: GC510, GC513, BU110) try to remove it from the connected USB port then plug it back.

 

STEP 4:

Reinstall driver for the UAC device: remove the UAC device manually from Device Manager by right click on its name then select “Uninstall device”,

 

 

then at Device Manager/Action panel select “Scan for hardware changes”

 

STEP 5:

Go into Windows Task Manager and at Services “Stop” RECentral service

 

then restart it by clicking “Start” it.

 

STEP 6:

If you set graphic card codec in RECentral 4 settings, make sure to update your standalone graphic card driver to its latest version.

 

Go to Device Manager on your PC and make sure AVerMedia ExtremeCap UAC is listed under Imaging devices and Sound, video and game controllers.

*In some rare cases, your ExtremeCap UAC might be detected as a question mark (?) or a USB audio device. If that happens, right-click the device name and select Uninstall, and then reconnect the USB cable.
